Matt has an Aunt and Uncle that have co-owned a farm as long as I can remember. They grow corn, peas, tomatoes, squash, melons, and sometimes potatoes. They have three different produce stands set up around West Valley and they sell the produce through the summer. They hire people to help pick in the fields and run the stands from relatives and friends mostly. This year, since we live close enough, Matt's aunt hired us to help out. They let those of us who are mom's bring our kids to work and they play in the stand while we help the customers. It is a lot of fun and a great way to pick up a little extra spending money while helping out family. It was a lot of fun to get to know some of Matt's extended family a little better too. We haven't seen these relatives very often since we got married and I really like them. I just helped in the stands, but Matt helped in the stands during the day, then in the evening, he would go and help pick in the tomato field. We both had a lot of fun, and if we get the chance, want to do it again next year. Here are some photos of our fun.

Matt loves to eat the corn raw (or at least he did until he became allergic), so I let Steven try it one day. He loved it!

Steven and his cousins "helping" me stack the corn in the trailer that the customers buy it from.

Steven was waving the plastic bag like a pom-pom and Ethan and Eoughan (his cousins) were cheering him on. They were all laughing really hard and having a really good time.

This is Matt picking in the tomato feild. He is the one closest to the camera, bent over, in the white t-shirt, jeans and black cap. They stack the tomatos in crates on the platform behind the tractor. Then they load the crates onto a truck to take them to the stands the next morning.

This is Steven waiting with his daddy to load the crates from the tractor onto the truck.
