Our 4th of July celebration!

This post actually encompasses the entire weekend of the 4th. It will probably have a lot of pictures too. They are my favorite part of blogging.
We started our celebrating on Thursday, the 3rd. we went with my parents and grandparents up to the stadium to watch Logan's firework display. We always get there early, and sit in our seats and either enjoy or tolerate the entertainment (depending on the year and who they have performing). We eat snacks and play games and talk. Sometimes my Dad and Grandpa bring their binoculars so they can watch the people on the other side of the stadium. This picture is my cute Dad: That's always been my favorite. They do it more often than you might think. Steven has been really nervous about loud noises lately, but he did really great. He cried a little right at the beginning, but then he got used to the noise, and loved watching the bright colors. I brought my tripod and took pictures of the fireworks. It is a lot of fun to take pictures with the camera in night mode so the exposure is a little longer than normal. This year we also had some little glow bracelets for Steven to play with. He really loved that!
On Friday, Matt had the day off of work so we celebrated the big day in style. We stayed home all day packing. This is the beginning or our massive box pile. We finally left the house around 6:30 pm to run a couple errands and picked up Chinese food for dinner! I know, we're so American!
Then on Saturday, we had a cookout at my mom's house with dutch oven food and homemade rootbeer! Steven had a lot of fun playing in the fog from the dry ice. After dinner we went to the annual Cruise-In Parade. We like to go and look at all the shiny old cars. This year someone entered in a car that they had built around a tank engine! I have included a picture of it...
Once it got dark, Matt and My brother Brian (the good looking, single, returned missionary) put on a little show with some sparklers for Steven. We inadvertently bought the crappy sparklers ( the ones on the wooden sticks) so they made the best of it.
Overall, a really great weekend! One last big hoorah before all the hardcore moving preparations, and the actual moving.
