Camping Out

Matt has been wanting to camp out in the backyard with Steven for a while. We had to set up the tent so we could do a little maintenance on it. We needed to replace the bungee in one of the poles and seal the seams on the rain fly. So Matt figured that since he had to set up the tent for that stuff it would be a good chance to "camp out" with Steven too.

Steven helped him set up the tent:
Steven usually helps him set up the tent when we go camping too. He really likes to play with the poles, as you can see.


Steven was really excited to sleep out in the tent! He kept going out to the tent to stand in it. When he and Daddy finally went out to go to bed, he had a blast singing with daddy and sharing the air mattress with him.

It was a lot of fun, and I think we will definitely try this again. I am excited for how well Steven did sleeping on the "ground" in the tent. He has only ever slept in the pack-n-play when we go camping. Maybe this weekend when we go, we will try him just on a pad on the ground.
